Trump Is Rebuilding American Mining — Single-Handedly
For years, the U.S. mining industry was suppressed, deliberately stopped dead in its tracks. Environmental activism ran the show. Permitting was a death sentence. Valuable projects — projects that would have put Americans to work and secured our resource independence — were killed before they got started.
That era is over.
Trump is rebuilding American mining single-handedly. Permitting has been dramatically accelerated. Wide swaths of land have been reopened to exploration and production — especially for critical minerals that we’ve been importing from adversaries while our own ground sat idle.
I spoke recently with a long-term, experienced mining company executive. He sang the praises of Trump’s pro-mining stance without reservation. This isn’t a guy who hands out compliments easily. When someone who’s navigated decades of regulatory hell tells you the climate has genuinely changed, you listen.
The arc here is worth understanding. Trump’s first term cracked the door open. Biden, to his limited credit, continued some of it through the IRA — critical minerals got attention because the green energy narrative demanded domestic supply chains. But Biden pulled permits from other projects with the other hand, giving and taking in classic bureaucratic fashion.
Under Trump 2.0, the gloves are off. It’s exploding.
And Washington isn’t just stepping out of the way — it’s stepping in. The federal government is now funding and joint venturing on select projects, putting real skin in the game alongside private capital. That’s a sea change. Expect more of it in the years ahead as the strategic stakes become impossible to ignore.
The critical minerals race is the new space race. Whoever controls lithium, cobalt, copper, rare earths, and uranium controls the 21st century economy. For too long, we ceded that ground — literally — to China and others. That calculation is changing fast.
The junior miners, the explorers, the producers who survived the dark years of regulatory suffocation — they’re the ones positioned to win now. The land is open. The permits are moving. The political will is there. And now the government’s checkbook is opening too.
America is back in the ground.

Ridiculous. The man has taken a wrecking ball to our country. One small right does not correct 100 million wrongs!
Deglobalization.
